Crist’s Fundraising Falls Short

The 2014 Florida Governor’s race is speculated to be the most expense state race in history; so it’s no wonder Charlie Crist is turning to Obama’s little black book of donors to help him compete against Governor Scott.

A group of people, informally called, “Obama World,” is comprised of big fish donors and politicos. They were responsible for helping President Obama with his reelection efforts in 2012, and are now converging on the Florida Governor’s race to help Charlie Crist.

At first glance it seems to be helping. In the first 5 weeks, a committee supporting Crist for governor has received $912,000 from high dollar Obama donors, and another committee funded partially by the Democratic Governors Association has received $93,000. However, Crist’s fundraising efforts fall short of what Governor Scott has raised thus far.

It is apparent, Crist will have to rely heavily on high dollar Obama donors to bring in the money, but even the deepest of wells run dry.
