Brian Mast Announces Run for Congress

Army Veteran, Brian Mast announced his intention to run Monday morning for Congressman Patrick Murphy’s seat in Florida’s 18th Congressional Seat. While the field is quickly becoming crowded, Brian Mast has set himself apart early on.

Having served 12 years in the Army as a bomb technician, Mast worked on roughly 35 Special Operations missions before being injured in September 2010 by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Mast spent more than 16 months at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and was awarded the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal for Valor, Purple Heart and Defense Meritorious Service medals.

In a special appearance on Tuesday morning, Brian Mast told Fox and Friends he wanted to continue his service to our great nation in Congress using what he learned from his service. While some may argue, Mast has an uphill battle in a growing field of Congressional hopefuls, he is no stranger to challenges and has a track record of overcoming them.

“The adversity I have faced in my life has only intensified my desire to serve and to ensure that the people of our great nation have every opportunity to rise as far as their talent and hard work will take them.”

As our nation enters a crossroad in 2016, Brian Mast believes he has what it takes to become the Florida’s Congressman. From the crippling political agenda to the lag in our economy to the nationalized healthcare system Mast outlines the problems plaguing America and hindering our success as a country in his announcement video.

With 2016 being so far away and other candidates still toying with a potential run, its too early to call this race in Mast’s favor, but he’s definitely on our radar on the list of candidates to watch.
