Republicans in Arizona Rally Support for Democratic Senator Mark Kelly

In 2020, Republicans crossed party lines to elect a Democrat to the White House; now, in 2022, Republicans in Arizona are at it again to re-elect Democratic Senator Mark Kelly. On March 16th, Renew America Movement, a cross-partisan organization, launched a coalition called Republicans for Mark Kelly. The initiative brings influential and grassroots Arizona Republicans together to re-elect Senator Mark Kelly.

Senator Kelly was sworn into the Senate on December 2, 2020, to finish out the late Senator John McCain’s term, and now Kelly is running for a full term. Since joining the Senate, Kelly has worked across party lines to deliver for his constituents in Arizona. Kelly’s record has earned him the respect of people outside of his party and shows voters of the Grand Canyon State there is an honorable alternative.

The truth is, people are over political parties (READ: the Republican party) putting their interests ahead of the country’s. During the 2020 presidential election, a coalition of Arizona Republicans came together to flip the state blue, sending a clear message that voters wanted to restore principle and unity to the White House.

This desire for principle and unity remains for a growing number of Arizona Republicans in 2022. They have become fatigued with conspiracy theories that have permeated the state GOP and emboldened QAnon supporters to run for office under the party banner.

Extremists who continue to peddle conspiracy theories and peddle the “Big Lie” have hijacked the Republican Party of Arizona. As every election has its share of extremists running for office, 2022 is no exception, and Republicans for Kelly are tired of it.

From the late Senator John McCain to Barry Goldwater, Arizona has a long history of electing principled individuals, and for voters in the Grand Canyon State, integrity and courage matter. With so much at stake this November, Arizonans, specifically Republican voters, can send a clear message to the GOP that extremism has no place in their party or politics.

With less than eight months until the midterm election, Republicans for Kelly are working to build their coalition of conservatives and Republican Arizonans who are ready to put country over party and keep Mark Kelly in the Senate.

While midterm elections are often seen as a referendum on the president, this election will be a sign of things to come in the 2024 election. Re-electing Mark Kelly to the Senate will ensure that one less extremist has the chance to serve in the People’s House.

For the upcoming election, it is imperative to push back on the rising tide of extremism, and by the looks of it, Arizona is ground zero for extremism. The goal for Republicans for Kelly is to extinguish the flames and deepen the pro-democracy bench by keeping integrity in the Senate.
