A New Poll: Governor Christie Shows Promise in 2016
Governor Chris Christie is giving Hillary Clinton a run for her money.
As Democrats double down on Hillary for President, a new poll suggests they may want to hold onto their money. The poll conducted by CNN/ORC International shows New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie leading Clinton, 48 to 46 percent.
Among other potential GOP presidential hopefuls, Governor Christie is the only one who has shown promise in beating former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
Christie is leading among independents, men, and older voters; while Clinton carries the female vote. The poll surveyed 950 registered voters from Dec. 16-19 and found 48% would support Christie if he were the nominee, while only 46% would back Clinton. Similarly, last month a Quinnipiac poll showed Christie leading Clinton 45 to 40 percent. Quinnipiac surveyed 1,617 registered voters from Dec. 10 to 15 for the poll.
Based on the two surveys Governor Christie is the candidate to watch in 2016. Christie’s ability to reach across party lines and get the job done is the exact formula Republicans will need to to win back the White House in 2016.
