Second time’s a charm?
Sources tell me, it’s only a matter of time before Adam Hasner announces his candidacy for a second congressional bid.
Hasner who served in the State Legislature from 2002-2010, quickly moved up the ladder and became Republican Majority leader in 2007. Due to term limits Hasner was forced to give up his seat in 2010.
Last February, Hasner made a run for Florida’s 22nd Congressional district but lost to Louis Frankel. Hasner is now eyeing Allen West’s old congressional seat currently occupied by Democrat freshman Patrick Murphy. Adam Hasner has remained active in Murphy’s district and is showing signs of an intention to run.
Currently there other candidates vying for Murphy’s seat, but none with the name recognition of Hasner. If Hasner were to enter the race, he would rank as one of the leading Republicans on the ballot.
