Lenny Curry’s New Ad: “Build Something That Lasts”
There is no doubt about it, Lenny Curry is poised to build something that lasts.
As the rest of the state winds down from a busy election season, Lenny Curry former chairman of the Republican Party of Florida and co-founder of Jacksonville-based ICX Group Inc, is ramping up to take on Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown in March 2015.
Hitting the airwaves November 20th with a television ad Lenny Curry lets his Dad take the wheel and tell the people of Jacksonville who his son is. “Build Something That Lasts” — is a positive biographical piece that prominently features Curry’s father, an electronics repairman, vouching for his son’s work ethic and saying, “He’s not a politician.”
The timing of the ad dovetails nicely as people switched gears from campaign mode to the holiday season. “Build Something That Lasts” opens with Curry’s Dad talking about his son, Lenny and his accomplishments in Jacksonville. The piece goes on to highlight Curry’s private-sector experience and evokes images of his nuclear family.
The goal of the ad is to open the conversation between Curry and the people of Jacksonville. Brian Hughes, chief strategist for Curry said, “[Curry] has a work ethic that’s allowed him a great deal of success in business and prepared him to be the type of leader that Jacksonville desperately needs.”
In a time when Floridians are fatigued with campaigns and political rhetoric, Lenny Curry has offered a softer look into who he is and who he will be as Mayor of Jacksonville. This approach will serve him well as he maintains a presence through the holiday season and prepares to take on mayoral incumbent Alvin Brown in March.
