Coming to America Soon, Obama Nation

Over the past 5 years, America has wavered on the world’s stage and at home. What made our nation so great has become tarnished under a president who has blatant disregard for our Constitution. From spying on citizens at home to Benghazi to IRS intimidation, this administration has abused executive powers and ruined the American dream for many.

Obamacare was just the tip of the iceberg. Four years ago when Obamacare was passed President Obama told Americans, “if you like your health insurance you can keep it.” Now he’s telling those same Americans, “if you like your job you can keep it.” 

President Obama is selling a new program called the TransPacific Partnership, also known as Obamatrade. Much like Obamacare, Congress will have to pass Obamatrade in order to find out what’s in it. One thing is for certain though, Obamatrade will outsource our sovereignty to an international authority, outsource control of the House of Representatives to the Obama White House, and outsource our jobs to Vietnam. Obamatrade is being masked as a free trade agreement and being sold with empty promises of new jobs.

In an Op-Ed by Former Congressman West, he warns, “President Obama is seeking power the Constitution has assigned to Congress. Soon, he will formally ask Congress to surrender its constitutional authority and grant him “Fast Track” Trade Promotion Authority.” West is urging members of Congress to uphold the Constitution and heed Nancy Reagan’s advice to Just Say No.

Fast Track would grant President Obama unilateral decision making and remove the checks and balances put in place by the Founders. According to the Constitution, Article One Section 8, gives Congress exclusive responsibility for regulating “commerce with foreign nations” – trade. If Congress grants this power to President Obama, he will be able to sign commercial trade agreements before Congress has a chance to vote on them. Essentially, Fast Track would override the Constitution once, but the passage of Obamatrade would override the Constitution indefinitely and paralyze Democracy as we know it.

The looming threat of Obamatrade may seem light years away, but so did Obamacare.
