Jolly’s Secret Weapon: Obamacare
With a little over two months to go in the special election for Congressional District 13, and David Jolly is ready to win it for Pinellas. Coming off a victory in Tuesday’s GOP primary, Jolly is now leading Alex Sink in the polls. It is apparent, Jolly is building the momentum needed to keep him ahead of his opponent and give Republicans their first win in 2014. Jolly’s future looks bright and his golden ticket will be his stance on Obamacare.
In a recent poll released by St. Pete Polls, “68 percent of voters say where the candidates stand on Obamacare will influence their vote.”
Issue voters are not a new thing, they’ve been around forever, and have the ability to sway elections. In 1968, Richard Nixon ran his presidential campaign centered around pulling the United States out of Vietnam and bringing the troops home, he won; and again in 1972.
It is no surprise, Obamacare is at the forefront of this election, from a failed website launch, to many losing their existing plans; voters in Pinellas are looking to their next Congressman to be part of the solution instead of the problem.
